This book is a highly detailed, chronological account of how it all unfolded. I’m surprised I actually enjoyed a book which pulls from various media sources

The Victim Syndicate has turned Gotham against Batman in protest. They also threaten to release criminals from Arkham unless Batman unmasks himself on live TV

Mr. King lets The Joker and The Riddler to shine in this issue. I have never found The Riddler to be much of a challenge in previous incarnations, but this Riddler is a true equal to The Joker, just as manipulating, devious and evil.

I enjoyed the stories were the fourth wall is being broken and Harley is out in the real world, my favorite was the story where she goes to Comic-Con, it was very funny and I’m sure there were many gags I didn’t even get (bonus points for including Bruce Timm and Paul Dini).

The tale of the man who one day would become The Joker is excellent. I don’t know if Mr. Moore intended to contribute this much to the DC mythology (the largest contribution is that of Barbara Gordon’s tale) but in this story he did.
