Thoughts:
Legendary Star-Lord Vol. 1: Face It, I Rule by Sam Humphries. Paco Medina (Illustrator), Freddie Williams (Illustrator) is another comic my daughter brought home from school, which looked like fun. As I mentioned before, I try to read the books my kids get assigned at school, or read for pleasure (Twilight excluded), so we’ll be able to discuss and help with their school work.

The creators of this comic had some work to do. Star-Lord, star of the live action movie (portrayed by Chris Pratt) is well known to ever fan, but the comic book version is different, yet has to have some similarities in case fans of the movie picked up the issue. The creators did a great job balancing the two, while the comic Star-Lord is different than the movie character, there are some subtle and not-so-subtle commonalities which the fans of the movie will appreciate, and enhance the character.

The art is very good, shows details but does not make your eyes tired, and moves the story along. Mr. Medina and Mr. Williams are very talented and took time at their craft.

The graphic novel is very funny in some parts, and the story is interesting and leaves room for more. I’m certainly looking forward to reading parts 2 and 3.

Synopsis:
Peter Quill, Star-Lord, battled Badoon to save and orphanage and got captured by a bounty hunter. The bounty hunter is somehow connected to Peter’s past but can they make the connection before Peter dies.
In the midst of battles and jokes, Peter still finds time to flirt with his girlfriend, Kitty Pryde of X-Men fame.
