Thoughts:
I didn’t think I would enjoy this arc of the Nightwing stories, but there are elements which I do find interesting. Nightwing Vol. 3: Nightwing Must Die by Tim Seeley (illustrated by Christian Duce, Minkyu Jung, & Javier Fernandez) is an enjoyable, fast moving graphic novel which builds upon the new Nightwing stories as well as ties it down to the rest of the DC Universe and the Bat-family.
This story-line is more or less a sequel to previous issues where Nightwing takes on Professor Pyg. The writer threw at Dick Greyson more challenges in the form or an ex-villain girlfriend, a low paying job, a child on the way, and the new Robin coming to visit for his own selfish reasons.
This is a very enjoyable book, Damien Wayne is certainly the breakout character in the DC Universe right now. The writing is good, witty and moves the plot at a descent pace. This is a grounded superhero book, especially when it comes to the Bat-family line.
Synopsis:
Deathwing, a Nightwing copycat is sent to Blüdhaven to kidnap Dick Greyson’s girlfriend, Shawn Tsang (formally the villain Defacer). Nightwing is trying to find out who sent Deathwing and has to go around the globe to do so.
Unfortunately for him, the current Robin, Damian Wayne, joins him for his adventure.
