Charles Montagu Doughty (19 August, 1843 – 20 January, 1926) was a poet, adventurer, and writer from England. He is known for his book Travels in Arabia (1888), which was published in two volumes.

- Charles Montagu Doughty was born in Theberton Hall, Suffolk, England. His father was a reverend, and his mother was the daughter of a reverend, judge, and politician.
- Being of such a prominent family, the young Mr. Doughty went to private schools.
- Doughty traveled in Europe, Egypt, Palestine, and Syria. He even attempted to make a pilgrimage to the hajj at Mecca, and got as far as Madāʾin Ṣāliḥ.
