Armchair BEA – Introduction

1. Who are you?
I’m Zohar, been blogging for about 3.5 years but I feel as if I’m getting worst at it instead of better. I got into blogging because I wanted to write my thoughts about the books I read and have some feedback.
Simple.

2. Where in the world are you blogging from? Tell a random fact or something special about your current location. Feel free to share pictures.

I’m blogging from Delaware, we just moved here (we’re on the DE, NJ, PA border) from NJ due to my work. I have a hell of a commute but the kids are in a good school and my wife loves the area. There is a horse park right around the corner which my daughter loves.

3. Have you previously participated in Armchair BEA? What brought you back for another year? If you have not previously participated, what drew you to the event?

I’m back for another year, I’ve done this event two years in a row (this is my third) and I always seem to miss the initial post. It’s a fun event and I was really thinking I’d go to the BEA this year in NYC, but it wasn’t meant to be. Maybe next year.

4. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?

I’m currently reading Three Lives of Tomomi Ishikawa by Benjamin Constable. I’ve read several excellent books in 2013, two which really stand out are Prague Winter by Madeleine Albright and Outlaw Platoon by Sean Parnell & John Bruning.

5. Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.

I like Superman, have been since I was about 8 years old or so and even though it seems pretty juvenile… there it is. It’s especially fun now when I have little kids who bust my chops about it. I have a pretty good sized collection (which my wife hates), I was actually digging through it last night because the local library will display it for the month of June (not coincidentally when Man of Steel comes out).

6. If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?

I don’t want to eat or be around any fictional characters. There is a reason they’re interesting and that’s because they are so flawed none of us would even walk on the same side of the street with them.

I would like to eat dinner with Ian Fleming, I’d love to hear his cold war stories and what of his experience did he insert into the Bond stories.
