The Bookish House of Belle

On our recent trip to Disney World we stopped by to say hello to a family favorite, Belle from Beauty and the Beast. You remember the poor girl who gets ridiculed in her small French provincial town for being a reader?

Disney has built a new (to us) area called Fantasyland where one can meet Belle, the Little Mermaid, and other “stars”. The area includes the hottest new attraction, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster, Gaston’s Tavern and a wonderful recreation of the Beast’s castle, a restaurant aptly named Be Our Guest (try the gray stuff, it’s delicious).

We went to an attraction called Enchanted Tales with Belle, which takes place in Belle’s house. The house is full of books, of course, and I took some pictures of the wonderful décor. The idea is that the kids, and kids at heart, will surprise Belle with a play recreating Beauty and the Beast. Our daughter got to be The Beast and our son… Mrs. Potts – pictures which I will treasure as future blackmail and embarrass him at his wedding.

I highly recommend this attraction, the kids had a great time and memories, I also recommend for the adults to participate if possible.
