The airlift was instrumental because if showed the Germans that Americans do care about them, and that the US used all its might to help instead of destroy. I have heard of the Berlin Airlift, but never realized all the moving pieces…

I loved reading about these great man, who were after all just humans as we all are. Eisenhower’s legendary passion for golf, Johnson’s humane side and the pride of his roots,

The author states that this part of Roosevelt’s life is often glossed over by biographers and historians, they don’t see it as very important. As well all know, however, it is the small moments, the unassuming ones which catch us off guard that sometimes create the deepest impact

Even if you don’t have a passion for the outdoors, or not a fan of America’s National Parks this book will certainly entertain you. It is an easy read with excellent pictures from the old and recent days.

The book did not disappoint, not only is it beautiful on the outside, the enclosed photographs of the house, grounds, intimate moments of Vice-Presidents and Presidents with the loved ones, staff, and stuff are alone worth getting the book.

The research in this book, as with the author’s other books, demands special recognition. While the book is condensed, almost like a history book, it is very readable and interesting.

This is not a comprehensive book, and it is not meant to be one. It’s a quick primer for those interested in the subject and would give one a sense of what they would like to read next.

This book was certainly an eye opener, the figure of Nixon, a puzzle in death as much as in life, still has historians bewildered and many mystified

The most fascinating part, for me, was how each person governed before and after office as if the office was sacred and kept it that way despite political differences.
