There are sparks of genius sprinkled around the novel. I really enjoyed his characterizations, description of all the main characters, their power, & obsessions

This book is brilliant, insane and twisted – a grotesque fable, sometimes funny & beautifully written. Even my daughter came to enjoy it after the first chapter

While the story is also about the coming of age, it is also a touching testament to the early immigrant spirit and the hardships of life
