María is a 55-year-old woman, single, who has an independent daughter, and her business is selling rotisserie chicken.

She is enterprising, generous, sincere, friendly, understanding, responsible, and hard-working. Her business is in the “Pampahasi” zone, a place characterized by being found on a hillside of the city, where the streets are sloped/steep, and for its origins of Aymara people from the countryside who fought for the liberation from the Spanish yoke and settled in this trench-like place. It has a cold and dry climate with a temperature that varies during the day between 2-14 degrees centigrade during the whole year.

María has brown skin, long black hair she keeps tied up, brown eyes, is short, of medium stature, her native language is Aymará which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Spanish due to the general culture and the work she does. She shares her life with her daughter and with her 2 grandchildren who go to school. They live in their own room built of brick, with a roof of metal laminate sheeting that has drinking water, electricity, and sewer services. Her business is selling fast food such as rotisserie chicken (seasoned chicken cooked in an oven), salchipapas (sausages and potatoes fried in oil) and hamburgers. She does this work from Monday to Sunday in a room fixed up as a food stall, where her customers sit to enjoy their food. She began her business due to the necessity of feeding her family. Currently, she has an assistant who is in charge of peeling the potatoes, making the food, and doing other work. The advantage of her business is the proximity to offices and businesses which are regular customers. “I work by necessity and for the well-being of my grandchildren, they are 2 and my daughter alone can’t cover all of their expenses…” she says. Her dream is to buy a house, she wants to expand her business through purchasing a deep fryer and a rotisserie oven to sell fried chicken and cook a lot of potatoes. This is her first loan cycle with the institution in the 15 years that she has been doing this work.

For these reasons, María asks for a loan to purchase a deep fryer and a rotisserie oven to cook children and help with the expenses of her grandchildren.
