Thoughts:
When I read Batwoman, vol. 1: Hydrologyand Batwoman, Vol. 2: To Drown the WorldI believed this series would be something special, so I went ahead and read the second volume. I’m very glad I stuck with it, the story is getting better and I can confidently say that Batwoman, Vol. 3: World’s Finest by J.H. Williams IIIandW. Haden Blackman (illustrated by Trevor McCarthy, and colored by Dave Stewart & Guy Major) is the third graphic novel installment introduction the world to the new Batwoman is, so far, the best of the bunch.

I really like where the writers of the issue were going with the characters and the world they built around them. Kate Kane, Batwoman, refused to join the Batman team when asked, and only wears his symbol as a source of her inspiration. The supernatural story, which I was highly doubtful of, comes together nicely in this story, given the god-like powers of Wonder Woman a challenge.

Kate Kane’s world, not the Batwoman villains, adds to the complexity of the storyline. One of the reasons I always enjoyed DC’s story-lines is because many focused on the darker side of the heroes. The psychological toll being a hero takes on one’s well-being as well as the toll it takes on the people around them.

The art is consistent with the other books, good and easy to follow. I am glad that DC heroines are headlining comics once again. They are one of the greatest, and unused, assets the company has and this team is doing this heroine justice (pun intended).

Synopsis:
Batwoman teams up with Wonder Woman to try and bring down Medusa. But Medusa is a formidable opponent and the two heroines are having a difficult time.

Meaning Director Bones and his DEO, as well as Abbot and the Religion of Crime all come to Gotham for a good fight.
