Thoughts:
No Heroes: A Memoir of Coming Home by Danny O. Coulson is one of those books you know is real, because no fiction writer could make this stuff up. This book shows some of the real people, life, and motives behind and FBI badge. The stories behind the major events are as fascinating as the events themselves.

The book is fascinating and engaging, the anecdotes Mr. Coulson tells are entertaining, sad and fill the reader with awe. Mr. Coulson balances the book with stories from his past, his career in the FBI and the development of the HRT (a part I found absolutely captivating).

I noticed the book had excellent pacing and the author found his story-telling voice to make the read enjoyable.  As someone who did not know what to except (besides a topical and interesting subject), I thought the book was a really great read.

After I read the last chapter, I understood why the author has written the book, but it does not show in the rest of the book, this is one of the best “behind the scenes” books I’ve read. An outstanding look into a world of shadows.
