What I thought would be tedious, turned out to be a great and unexpected read.

A few days ago I published my thoughts on Reagan: The Life by H.W. Brands, a biography of the 40th president of the United States. I thought this was an excellent, interesting biography which is balanced and a joy to read. The book is engaging and I will certainly reference it in the future. I really liked the characters of the book, the three Kenyan orphans are engaging and likeable. I also liked how the author took the Wizard of Oz and weaved that narrative into his storyline throughout the book.
Mr. Baum was an adamant supporter of women’s rights. His mother in law, Matilda Joslyn Gage, even wrote a book, History of Woman Suffrage (availble for free) with Susan B. Anthony, however it is said she did not like her son-in-law very much.
The book follows Reagan from his youth, his Hollywood career, his presidency (which gets the lion share of the book of course) and to his death.
