This novel was both hilarious and grim. The irony against forms of bureaucracy that claim authority over the people is what makes this a great anti-war novels
This is an academic work, interesting but could be dry. The author spends most of the book examining The Sandman series, especially Morpheus’ trip to hell

The teens realize they are being bread to be care givers, and as parts “donors”. There is, however, a rumor of a way to live a long, happy, and healthy life.
A fine book & a great choice of authors. I never realized the contribution of most of these authors to the world, as well as the significance of their stories
The research the author did shine, and I’ve learned several things about Latvia, the region, the way Latvian Jews viewed the Soviets, and a bit of history
While the subject is, indeed, very serious, there’s also playfulness within the narrative. I have no idea how Mr. Uris managed to do that
