This graphic novel puts the two heroes together for an adventure which also introduces The Watchmen into the DC Universe
The first thing that struck me was that these were quality books. The pages are printed on nice stock, are stitched together and easy to read.
The new character the creative team introduces, Raptor, is one of the better new characters DC Comics came out with in awhile.
The story starts off fresh and even manages, slyly I might add, to tell the Batman origin story we all heard a thousand times without breaking up the narrative.
Tom Hazzard is aging slowly, about one year for every ten of a regular human. He has lived for centuries, known Shakespeare, sailed with Captain Cook and fell in love.
The whole book Mr. Wilde searching for inner peace. No matter where he goes, what he tries, and who he meets, this search is front and center during the narrative.
Sadness is a White Bird by Moriel Rothman-Zecher tries to tackle the Israel/Palestine relationship from different perspective
This is truly a cast book. The “Batmen” are just as interesting as the main hero himself, actually they are more interesting. It is refreshing to read a book where the heroes are just as interesting as the villains.
Even if you don’t have a passion for the outdoors, or not a fan of America’s National Parks this book will certainly entertain you. It is an easy read with excellent pictures from the old and recent days.
