About: Disney U: How Disney University Develops the World’s Most Engaged, Loyal, and Customer-Centric Employees by Doug Lipp is a business book with a Disney twist. Many of the lessons in this book are timeless and thought provoking. 240 pages Publisher: McGraw-Hill Education ASIN: B00BDE68E4 My rating for Disney U – 4 Buy this book in Paper or electronic format* Thoughts: like many people, I also love the Disney movies and Disney parks, a running joke in my family is that one of the main reasons I had kids was that I’ll have someone to go with me to cartoons. The stories are good, but the detail and artwork are what I find the most fascinating. On the several occasions I’ve been to Disney World (and once to Disneyland), I could not get enough of the beauty of the parks, how everything was thought out, the cleanliness, and of course, the friendliness of each and every employee. When I saw Disney U: How Disney University Develops the World’s Most Engaged, Loyal, and Customer-Centric Employees by Doug Lipp, a business book (on sale) which will shed some light on the mysterious art known as the “Disney Magic”, I immediately bought…

About: Flyboys: A True Story of Courage by James Bradley is a non-fiction book about pilots in World War II. Mr. Bradley wrote several World War II books, the most famous is Flags of Our Fathers. 592 pages Publisher: Little, Brown and Company Language: English ISBN-10: 031610728X My rating for Flyboys – 3 Buy this book in paper or electronic format* More Books by James Bradley More Recommended World War II books on Man of la BookStore Thoughts: Flyboys: A True Story of Courage by James Bradley is an interesting book about a group of young men who had no idea what they were getting themselves into. They were brave men who watched their friends die and still flew day in and day out. I especially liked the beginning of the book where Mr. Bradley talks about the history of Japan, explaining how it came to invade other countries and their feudalistic culture. The latter came into importance in the Japanese Army which made it impossible for soldiers to refuse even the most inhumane orders. Mr. Bradley chose a strange way to tell this story. The author jumps around a lot between history, personal stories and timelines and it’s difficult, at some points, to…

About: Passive Income: How To Reach Financial Freedom By Building Residual Income Assets by John C. Borg is a short eBook in which the author gives the reader some ideas on passive income. 73 pages Sold by: Amazon Digital Services, Inc. Language: English ASIN: B00OCXTZE8 My rating for Passive Income – 4 Buy this book from Amazon.com* Thoughts: I’m always on the lookout for books about passive income, so when I saw that Passive Income: How To Reach Financial Freedom By Building Residual Income Assets by John C. Borg was free on the Kindle I downloaded it immediately. This is a short book with some helpful tips about saving, real estate, compound interest etc. The book is by no means a “how to” guide, but more of an idea generator. I liked the money savings ideas and simple explanations of somewhat complex financial terms. What many of these type of books about passive income are missing, though, is that there is nothing “passive” about passive income. Granted, you might not have to be working 9 to 5, but to put these types of income generators in place takes lots of hard work, endurance and money (maybe not “lots” of money but…

Book Review: Operation Garbo by juan Pujol and Nigel West

About: Operation Garbo: The Personal Story of the Most Successful Spy of World War II by Juan Pujol and Nigel West is a non-fiction book about the most successful double agent in World War II. The book is a biography of the life of Juan Pujol, the most accomplished British double agent in World War II and one of the few men, if not the only one, to receive both an Iron Cross from the Germans and a Member of the Order of the British Empire from the British. 288 pages Publisher: Biteback Publishing Language: English ISBN-10: 1849541078 My rating for Operation Garbo — 5 Buy this book in paper or electornic format* More Books by Juan Pujol and Nigel West Thoughts: Operation Garbo: The Personal Story of the Most Successful Spy of World War II by Juan Pujol and Nigel West is actually two books in one. The first part is an enthralling memoir of the spy, Juan Pujol Garcia a.k.a Garbo, the second part was a bit dry (for example: featuring correspondence about imaginary forces) but nonetheless interesting to anyone who invested time learning about World War II. After he started working for the British, Pujol invented a…
