Those of us who finished high-school probably know about Hitler committing suicide in the bunker, those of us who take the time to educate ourselves (or took some college history courses) we heard or read about the Nuremberg trials, but not much afterwards. After the Nuremberg trials the world moved on, but not the people the author writes about. The Nazi hunters were seeking justice against those in charge of killing millions of innocent people systematically, all this while their hunt fell out of headlines and out of people’s minds…
Mr. Spielberg’s Jewish story is very insightful and the author is obviously very interested in his journey as a proud Jew and a genius film maker
This is a two part story, the first one, as the name of the book suggests, is the story of the Nazis trying to control people’s beliefs via literature, punishment and spectacles of burning books symbolizing “wrong” ideology. The second part is the painstaking cataloging of millions of books, returning what can be returned (through notes, plates and other identifying marks).
There is an interesting commentary on just how Lionel Giles, the translator, chose to translate each line of text. The classical Chinese language is very dense and many of Sun Tzu’s passages have unclear meaning
This is not a comprehensive book, and it is not meant to be one. It’s a quick primer for those interested in the subject and would give one a sense of what they would like to read next.

Thomas Paine’s work influenced many radicals during, and after, his lifetime. These radicals called for such extreme change such as ending slavery, women’s equality, fair wages and so on.
The author’s infatuation with the famous writer and director goes well beyond anyone I know. During and after a troubled Chicago childhood, the author decided to write a biography of John Hughes, but he never really got to do simply do so.
For any lover of literature and trivia, this book is a gem.

The information in this book is very dense, and the list of resources and footnotes at the end is very impressive and will most like suffice as a comprehensive library of martial arts. This insightful book is filled with obscure and documented details about Ninjutsu, as well as Dr. Zoughari’s thoughts and fascinating analysis on the subject. The author was not pushing the Ninja character glorified by pop-culture, but clearly shows the skill and artistry of the Ninja as…
